A little About us

we may be small, but our impact will last a lifetime

The Old Dominion University Vietnamese Student Association strives to grow and bring an opportunity to current and new members through networking, community, and all in all learning about our Vietnamese heritage. Our goal is to create a family away from home for students that live close by or far away to build not only a connection to other Asian American students, but to build a foundation for the future students that come by that become apart of the family.

The Vietnamese Student Association at ODU can trace its roots back to 1982 and the original founders of VSA once said,

"The Vietnamese Student Association of Old Dominion University believe that academic excellence will be nurtured; that opportunity for leadership will be provided through our association; that we can create an intellectual climate for an interchange of ideas and ideals; and that scholars may be imbued with the desired for continuing education. Among our membership is earned by dedication. Through the conduct of our activities, truth shall be our quest, diligence our members, and achievement of excellent our purpose."

Many of these values they once hold still carry on in VSA today.  With a rich history of our heritage and support from the community, the Vietnamese Student Association strives to bring its members the best college experience possible.  Culture, community, and family are the three principles that make up ODUVSA today.
